For many Indian families in Singapore, preparing for Deepavali begins weeks in advance. There’s the big house clean to welcome Lakshmi into a fresh, auspicious home. New clothes are laid out, kolam is planned for the doorstep, and the kitchen is already busy with murukku, mysore pa, and other festive sweets days in advance. Then comes Deepavali morning itself — an oil bath before sunrise, a visit to the temple, and a home that stays open to a steady stream of family and friends dropping by all day.
With visitors coming through the door, pets running around, and multi-generational family members gathering—from young toddlers to elderly grandparents—keeping your home truly clean and germ-free is top of mind. Here is how you can cross deep-cleaning off your festive preparation list for less, while ensuring absolute safety for every member of your household.

Floral or Citronella?
Citronella’s natural fragrance helps repel mosquitoes and other insects — good if you’ll be lighting diyas or entertaining outdoors. Floral suits homes that stay mostly indoors.
Hand Sanitiser or Paw Sanitiser?
Hand Sanitiser suits open-house hosting and visiting relatives. Paw Sanitiser is designed for pet owners — crucial during Singapore’s wetter months when rainy walks track outdoor mud and bacteria inside.
